Expect to be transported to another place filled with European antiques, carved stone walls, Belgium linen, lemon trees and inviting gardens.
For those not familiar with Brooke & Steve Giannetti, I would recommend a trip to their blog and Velvet & Linen. Years ago, before Patina Farm came to life, I had an opportunity to interview Brooke. I have reposted it on Design Woodlands @ this LINK. It is still one of my favorite interviews!
While my inspiration for the trip to Chateau Domingue was for the Patina Farm book signing, I quickly fell in love with my surroundings. Upon walking through the door I was immediately greeted with the most divine Henri Bendel Lavender candle. I quickly wandered through every room of the sprawling Chateau Domingue set in Downtown Houston. Each room had a unique surprise from antique European fountains to a lovely array of lanterns and oh those iron doors!
Even the small rest room sink had a former life in an Italian church. The outside gardens host vine covered walls and imported fountains. To see more images of Chateau Domingue's lovely artifacts and antiques visit their website.
Chateau Domingue, in partnership with Paper City, held a wonderful event that featured the authors, a DJ, light appetizers and cocktails. I am so glad I fought the Houston rush hour traffic to make the trip! What an amazing evening!
